Professional Image (Dress Code)

All Future Professional must commit to and follow the Professional Image (Dress Code) during their enrollment in school. These guidelines were established to assist in creating a safe, focused, and enjoyable learning experience. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in a coaching under the Future Professional Advisory Policy and may result in termination without prior warning.

Professional Image (DRESS CODE)

All Future Professionals must adhere to the following professional dress code while in attendance:

1. Future Professionals students must wear BLACK.
2. Phase Two Future Professionals may wear BLACK or WHITE in any combination. A minimal print in clothing is acceptable if it is a black and white print.
3. Clothing should be professional and clean.
4. Shoes should be BLACK, professional, practical, and comfortable.
5. Hair should be styled prior to arriving at the school.
6. Any cosmetics should be applied prior to arriving at the school.
7. The following is a list of acceptable dress:
   1. Jeans or clothing made of jean material if they are black in color. Any rips or tears must fall below the fingertips, when standing up.
   2. Stylish hats, scarves, and stylish head wraps - In BLACK.
   3. Skirts or dresses that fall below the fingertips.
   4. Tights or leggings should be worn with skirts or dresses that fall above the knees for all Future Professionals.
   5. Name tags -as provided. Replacement cost of $12.00 for each name tag that is lost.
8. The following is a list of unacceptable dress:
   1. Gym workout shoes, UGGS, Crocs, foot thongs, beach sandals, open toe shoes or backless shoes.
   2. Low cut tops, backless tops, crop tops, tank tops, or spaghetti strap tops.
   3. Sweatpants, or leggings as pants.
   4. Sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, jackets.
   5. Printed T-shirts other than those with the Paul Mitchell logo or the school logo.
   6. Shorts and/or skirts that fall above fingertips, when standing up.
   7. Baseball hats, visors, bandanas, caps, or beanies.
   8. Spandex or biking shorts.
   9. Sunglasses, headphones, headgear, and/or earphones are not permitted in the classroom or the clinic classroom.
   10. Any print on shirts or pants other than on Paul Mitchell The School NYC designates "theme  days". Casual dress must still be clean, neat and project a professional image.

Future Professionals who fail to comply with the Future Professional dress code may be coached and may receive an advisory.
